Tips for Time Management

Updated: Feb 8

"Time is gold," especially when you are studying or starting several projects at the same. The thing can accumulate, and you can feel overwhelmed.

Let's put it into perspective... What is time management? Time management is about making smart use of your time and doing efficient work and not hard work.

You must learn how to manage your time and make the best of it. Therefore we will be sharing 5 tips that will guide you to manage your time with efficiency.

1. Define your goals

When you start a new project, there is a need to consider two big aspects: designing a timeline and setting goals.

Once you design a timeline, it will give you an idea of how long it will take you to achieve what you want; setting up your goals will allow you to focus the energy on what you really want to do.

Challenge yourself by doing the most difficult task first to get rid of it as soon as possible

2. Create a Routine

As a student, you have your class schedule chart, which allows you to use it in your school routine.

Create a daily routine that works for you and try to stick to it with responsibility.

It doesn't matter if you are a morning person or a creature of the night: create a task plan that you can accomplish, that allows you to be more productive, and that you can stick with throughout the week.

3. Avoid distractions

Life is full of distractions; therefore, they can be one of the biggest causes why we cannot finish our work.

If you are looking to finish a task, planification is essential.

If it is time to work, shut down all possible distractions, like browser tabs, put your phone away (and silence them). Dedicate 100% of your time to the task that you have decided to do.

4. Have some rest time between tasks.

Remember that we are humans. Don't be hard on yourself. Remember that we are not machines.

The human brain can concentrate for about 90 minutes, so it is vital to give your body and mind a rest; consider this. Productivity is the key.

Before getting to the next task, have a small break: go for a walk, eat something or play with your pet. This kind of rest helps you to switch attention, rest for a bit and recharge yourself.

5. Value your hours of sleep

According to the research made by the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, people who have proper sleep habits are healthier, more productive, and less stressed.

When you are working a lot without any rest, there will be a point that your brain gets overloaded. And as a result, you become unproductive.

Listen to your body and respect your sleeping hours. Also, think that your friends prefer you more human than a zombie. Do you want to be a human or a zombie eventually?
